Lois Dokken, 87, Benson

Lois Dokken, 87, passed away on March 24, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Benson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson, with Pastor William Warnock officiating. Interment will be at Benson City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Lois Mae Dokken was born on November 05, 1926, in Six Mile Grove Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Emile Morton Anderson. She was baptized on June 12, 1927 at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Danvers and she was confirmed at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson on April 06, 1941. She grew up in Six Mile Grove Township and attended country school.
Lois was united in marriage to Telford Dokken on December 7, 1946 at the Pilgrim Congregational Church Parsonage in Benson. This union was blessed with over 43 years of marriage and one son. They made their home in Benson. Lois worked at Benson Produce, Sandy’s Café, Fingerhut, and Jennie O. She retired in 1978.
She was a member of TOPS and weight watchers in Benson. She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, and trips to the casino. Lois was called from this life on March 24, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Benson. She attained the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 18 days. She is survived by her son, LeRoy (Joanne) Dokken of Appleton; one grandson, Michael (Missy) of Appleton; three siblings: William (Olga) Anderson of Glenwood, Marcel (Gloria) Kellner of Benson, and Linda Sash of Benson; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Telford in 1990; her parents John and Emile; a brother Willard Anderson; a brother John Kellner; and a sister Lila Donovan.
