Elizabeth Freese, 92, of Benson, formerly of Willmar, died Wednesday, April 9, at Golden Living Center - Meadow Lane in Benson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the Calvary Lutheran Church Chapel in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elizabeth Sylvia Katherine Freese was born April 29, 1921, in Camp Lake Township, near Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert and Bertha (Strand) Knutson. She grew up in Camp Lake Township, attended rural school and was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauli Lutheran Church.
October 7, 1944, she married Roy W. Freese. They lived and farmed in the rural Sunburg area until they retired in 1977. In 1978, they moved to Willmar, where Elizabeth was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and Calvary Lutheran Church. They moved to Brooklyn Center in 2000. Roy passed away in 2002 and Elizabeth later moved to Benson, where she resided at Scofield Place and later Golden Living Center - Meadow Lane.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; two brothers, Rudolph Knutson and Bennie Knutson; and four sisters, Ruth Svor, Alma Lundquist, Rose Skarsten and Gena Johnson.
Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
