Braves girls basketball to forego West Central schedule

The Benson Brave girls basketball team includes just seven girls with two seniors, two juniors, two sophomores and an eighth grader. It was announced that the team will not play a West Central Conference schedule this winter, according to a report from the West Central Tribune.
“They’ve been pretty good about it,” Benson’s first-year athletic director Matthew Ebnet told the West Central Tribune of his conversation with the West Central Conference officials and athletic directors. “It’s not doing them any good to play us right now, either.”
The Braves will continue to play its non-conference schedule, which stands at 11 games. Ebnet hopes to add four-plus more games to help balance out moving conference games. As of Friday, he added a game against Wheaton / Herman - Norcross
