Thanks for supporting community journalism!
On the Monitor-News website, you will see an image about Local News Giving Day. It will take you to a page where you will see a donate message featuring the Minnesota News Media Institute (MNI.) It is a non-profit entity affiliated with the Minnesota Newspaper Association, of which we are a member.
Because the Monitor-News is not a non-profit, it can’t take direct donations that will give you a tax deduction. So, the money you donate passes through MNI to the member newspaper you designate as your choice.
Thanks to all those who help fund the invaluable role community journalism plays in our representative democracy.
The Minnesota News Media Institute supports the local journalism that informs and connects communities across Minnesota. As the nonprofit created by the print and online member publications of the Minnesota Newspaper Association, we work to keep trusted local news where it belongs - in your neighborhood.
For LOCAL NEWS GIVING DAY 2026, we're working with the following Minnesota Newspaper Association members. Your donations are tax deductible and will be tracked to the specific news organization you clicked on to get to this page. If you didn't go through your newspaper's website, you may choose one of the organizations listed below and enter their name in the dedication field of the donation form.
If you'd like to support MNI's work generally (see details in the More About MNI tab), please indicate "MNI General Fund" in the dedication field.
