School levy numbers change; it now looks as if it passed

After looking like it had failed, the District 777 levy referendum for education now appears to have passed by the narrowest of margins.

The number of “no” votes on the Secretary of State’s website has fallen from 1,344 to 1,313, while the number of “yes” votes has stayed the same at 1,317 - a four-vote win for the referendum if the numbers stand.

Apparently, Kerkhoven Township had a counting error in the referendum vote. We will be checking for any additional changes.
