Ron Plucker was born  June 26, 1966, in Slayton.  He graduated from New London/Spicer High School and shortly after joined the Army and was stationed in Germany.
Ron was united in marriage to Cathy on September 11, 1993.  He received two of his greatest blessings from this marriage; Ashley and Nick.  Ron was proud of his kids and would boast around town of their many accomplishments.  Ron was so proud of Nick's business. He was also proud to be a grandpa and loved wagon rides to the Country Stop for treats.  He was known for his crockpot creations and would make sure to ask us several times "How is it?"  Ron spent many hours playing with the dogs and would be seen often giving a little scratch to the cats that "he didn't want."  Ron enjoyed gardening and would often bring fresh veggies to the neighbors.  Ron made many hunting trips up north and spent time hunting at his dad's farm by Sunburg.  He enjoyed fishing at the many bridges in New London and the many trips up north the family took.  Ron also enjoyed gathering with friends to play cards.
Ron fought a long hard battle with addiction, but his life was not defined by that.  He was a hard worker and took pride in many things.  His family and friends will miss him but know now that he is at peace.
Ron leaves behind: Cathy, Ashley (Justin), Nora, Nick, Ella; his mother, Audrey (Craig); sisters, Shelly (Dan), and Holly (Rick); and many nieces and nephews.
