Plowboys fall in defensive battle with Ortonville Rox

Runs were worth their weight in gold when the Plowboys made the trip to Ortonville July 12 to take on the Rox. With just 10 hits total between both teams, Ortonville came through in the late innings to score two runs and take the game 2-0.
Neither team scored in the first six innings of play. Ortonville finally got on the board in the bottom of the seventh with one run, and added one more in the eighth to take a 2-0 advantage.
Benson had one last chance to get back in the game in the top of the ninth, but only three batters went to the plate and they were sent down in order to lose the game 2-0.
The Plowboys finished the game with four hits as a team. Isaac Minchow finished 1 for 2 with a double. Alex Clausen and Jaxon Nickels both went 1 for 3. Patrick Minchow was 1 for 4.
On the mound, Sam Lenarz pitched all eight innings and allowed two runs off six hits and struck out five.
The next game on the schedule for the Plowboys will be a home game against the Cottonwood Cardinals on Friday, July 19.
