Myron Paul Olson of Starbuck, Minnesota passed away September 19, 2026, at the age of 85.
He was born February 20, 1941, in Benson, Minnesota where he grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Benson High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he proudly served our country both overseas and stateside.
Myron worked tirelessly to provide for his growing family, running his own business as a painter and wallpaper contractor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and June Olson, his brothers-in-law Tony Voeller, Albert Kobbermann, Roy Pritchett, Kenneth Pritchett, Don Fretland, and his grandson Jason Cook.
Myron is survived by his wife Elizabeth Olson, his children: Karen (John) Rogalla, Angie (Greg) Cook, Fay (Jon) Haataja, Paul Olson, Audrey Schnabel, Cheri (Dan) Galyen, Shannon (Paul) Schaefer; his grandchildren: Mike Rogalla, Brian Rogalla, Kristi (Rick) Elstad, Kara (Bryan) Lennartson, Justin (Hannah) Cook, Andrea Bryant, Zachris (Tressa) Haataja, Jacob (Emily) Haataja, Andrew Schnabel, Casey Galyen, Brea (Daniel) Galyen, Elisa (Nolan) Friday, Reed (Makenzie) Smith, Shelby (Joe) Webberly, Cody Smith, Ava Smith, Caden Smith, Mariah (Cole) Richardson; 16 great grandchildren; and his sisters: Olive Voeller and Carol Kobbermann.
Myron loved the great outdoors, boating, waterskiing, coaching softball, golfing, hunting and fishing. He especially loved being with family and friends. On any given day, you would find Myron telling stories, laughing and more than likely playing cribbage.
Myron loved building things or creating a beautiful yard. He spent the last decades of his life making the Starbuck home a beautiful gathering place for all his family, hosting many reunions yearly for his immediate and extended families.
Myron has shown us all how to work hard, enjoy life, love people and even at the end of life how to finish well.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his Life Tuesday, October 20 at the Starbuck Community Center located at 307 East 5th Street, Starbuck, MN at 1:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at noon.
