Henry Rand of Murdock, Minnesota died Saturday afternoon, November 27, 2021, at the Rice Care Center, in Willmar, Minnesota. Visitation was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 4, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment was in Clara City.
Henry “Hank” Rand Jr. was born April 5, 1932, the son of Henry and Jenny (Hagemeyer) Rand. The family lived in the Blomkest, Maynard, and Clara City area’s before purchasing the farm by Murdock in the 1940’s. In 1956, Hank was selected by his friends and neighbors to join the United States Army and he served overseas in France. Then he returned home to do the passion he enjoyed most, Farming with his brother Art.
He was united in marriage in August of 1978 to Viola Klein and they were blessed with over 26 years together. Vi passed away in 2004. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed snowmobiling, motor cycling, fishing, traveling, and going to the casino. He was called from this life Saturday afternoon, November 27, 2021, at the Carris Health Care Center in Willmar. He attained the age of 89 years, seven months, and 22 days.
He is survived by two very close nephews: David and Jerome Lien, along with several other nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jenny, his wife Viola, and all his siblings, Harm, Alice, Ann, Fred, Arthur, and Evelyn. Blessed be his memory.
