Glenn Lawrence Rois, 89, of Benson, Minnesota, died Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Julia's Place Assisted Living in Hancock, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at the Swift Falls Cemetery, Swift Falls, Minnesota.
Glenn Lawrence Rois was born July 22, 1937, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Lawrence and Gladys (Simonson) Rois. Glenn was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Benson and confirmed by Rev. Nasheim at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. He attended District #38 through the 8th Grade. He graduated from the Benson Senior High School with the class of 1955.
In 1954, Glenn joined the National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1960. From 1960-1962, Glenn was in the United States Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1962. He attended college at the University of Minnesota and St. Cloud State University.
July 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Loen at the Swift Falls Lutheran Church. Together they made St. James, Minnesota their first home. This union was blessed with two daughters, and they celebrated in more than 66 years of marriage. Glenn began his career as a salesman with International Harvestor, and later he was employed by Doughboy Industries located in New Richmond, Wisconsin, Belarus Machinery located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and by Bill Williams International Enterprises in Fargo, North Dakota. In addition to his career in sales, Glenn farmed with Rois Family Farms and retired in 2000.
Glenn belonged to 4-H, Jaycees in Ortonville, Sons of Norway, and Nordfjordlag. He was a member of Acres USA located in Kansas City. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, and shaking dice. He delighted in helping honest young farmers and taking trips to Branson, Missouri. Sports, studying family history and watching the birds, were all things he took great interest in. Glenn took great pride in taking care of his lawn and strived to make his yard look like a park. He especially loved visiting with his three grandsons.
Glenn was called from this life Saturday, September 26, 2026. He attained the age of 89 years, two months, and four days. Glenn is survived by his wife Marjorie, of Benson; two daughters: Sara (Brett) Murr of Savage, Ann (David) Miller of Lino Lakes; and three grandsons: Isaac (Nina) Miller, Blake (Kallan), and Thomas Murr; a great-granddaughter Audrey Miller; a sister Jane (Paul) Kalkbrenner, of Muskegon, MI; a brother William (Janet) Rois of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
