Gene Charles Vergin (Chuck) 64, of Benson, Minnesota died Wednesday, April 28, 2021, after losing his battle with Leukemia. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 314 15th Street North, Benson.
Gene (Chuck) was born August 8, 1956, in Benson, the son of Walter and Esther (Kolstad) Vergin. He grew up on a farm south of Benson and attended Cashel Township country school and graduated from Benson High School in 1974.
Surviving are his siblings, Joan (and Gerald) Johnson of Boulder City, NV; Linda Carstens of Benson; Ramona (and Walter) Young of Benson; Roger (and Shirley) Vergin of Plato; Dennis Vergin of Minneapolis; Jane Lee of Glenwood; Donald (and Nancy) Vergin of Benson; David Vergin of DeGraff; Gail (and Rodney) Skowronek of Forest Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Esther Vergin; brother Floyd Vergin of Benson and brother Gary Vergin of Willmar.
National Cremation Society was in charge of the arranagements.
