Edna Paulsrud of Montevideo, Minnesota died Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Copper Glen in Montevideo at the age of 98.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Montevideo.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Edna Josephine Paulsrud was born December 24, 1924 in Mandt Township to Edward and Josie (Christenson) Paulsrud.  She was baptized March 6, 1925 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church by Rev. Mason.  She was confirmed at Buffalo Lake Lutheran by Rev. Opdahl in 1938.

Edna graduated from Montevideo High School in 1943 and went on to teacher training and taught country school for 15 years. She then attended St. Cloud State where she obtained a B.S. in teaching in 1962. Edna taught for 28 years in Maynard and Montevideo elementary schools.  Edna lived on the family farm until 2013 when she moved to Copper Glen in Montevideo. She was lovingly cared for by the Copper Glen staff.

Edna was an active member of Buffalo Lake Lutheran where she participated in Luther League, Sunday School, summer Bible school and WELCA.  She also served as the congregation's treasurer.  Edna also enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, quilting, and reading.  She was a member of the Chippewa County Historical Society, Alpha Chi, and several educator groups.  She was a wonderful caregiver for many of her family members.

Edna is survived by seven nieces and nephews and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Curtis, Ernest, Harlan; sisters: Cora Paulsrud, Joy Bourne; niece, Denise Paulsrud and nephew, Dale Bourne.
