Carol Jensen, 78, of Benson, died Monday, August 23, 2021 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held  Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 4:30, and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson and will continue Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.  

Carol Jensen was born December 27, 1942, in Holloway, Minnesota, the daughter of  Howard Louis John and Blanche Marie (Kashmark) Bahl. She was baptized November 9, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Holloway and later confirmed there July 6, 1952. She grew up in rural Holloway and in Swift Falls. She attended country school near Holloway, St. Francis Catholic School and then graduated from Benson Senior High School.

September 2, 1961, Carol was united in marriage to Jerome Jensen at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Benson. This union was blessed with nearly 60 years of marriage. They made their home in Minneapolis, Glenwood and DeGraff. She worked as a secretary at the Nicollet Motel in Minneapolis, daycare in Glenwood, private secretary for Judge Bodger, deputy clerk of court and then Court Administrator for Swift County for 32 years. She was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church and  active in the Church Choir, CCD teaching, Parish counsel, Eucharistic ministry, social concerns and many other activities and projects. She participated in many things including 4-H, bowling, card club, square dancing, and marriage encounter.

Carol enjoyed talking and visiting with her wonderful family and friends, baking, sewing, and reading.  She was called from this life Monday, August 23 at the Fairview University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. She attained the age of 78 years, seven months, and 27 days.

Carol is survived by her husband Jerome Jensen of DeGraff; three children: Corrine Jensen of Benson, Cynthia Jensen of Willmar,  and Thomas(Regina) Jensen of Willmar; a foster son Daniel Alm; 13 grandchildren: Louis, Andrew, Syera (Jagusch), and Nathan Miller, Cole, Chillice, and Carli (Boden) Angrimson, Kyle, and Samantha Brundage, and Joshua, Jordan, and Sarah Jensen, and foster-Robert and Riley Alm: 11 great grandchildren: Kory, Nikki, Nolan Haats, Chase Miller, Jaxon and Lincoln Angrimson, Kara and Ella Alterio, Isley Boden, Savannah and Becca Jagusch: siblings: Lois Vollmer of Hopkins, Marlyn (Lorna) Bahl of Willmar, Rodney (Roberta) Bahl of Georgetown, Texas, Phillip (Vicki) Bahl of Sauk Centre, and Connie Lahner of Clearwater: several foster children and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Blanche Bahl, her daughter Christine and her husband Jay Brundage, grandson Zachary Jerome Brundage, son-in-law Ron Miller, brothers-in-law Don Jensen, Herman “Bud” Borg, Mike Lahner, John Jensen and Don Vollmer, sister-in-law Gladys “Mickie” Jensen.
