B/KMS finishes second at West Central Conference meet

The Benson/KMS gymnastics team joined five other teams in Morris for the West Central Conference meet Feb. 6. Benson/KMS finished second as a team in the meet and were led by All-Conference gymnasts Sophie Hilleren, Gwen Wilcox and Lexi Hoberg and Honorable Mention Mya McGeary.
Benson/KMS finished the meet with a team score of 138.8 to finish second. Melrose won the meet with a score of 141.825.
On the vault, Benson/KMS had the second highest team score with 35.275. Hoberg led the team in fourth place with a 9.075. McGeary finished eighth with 8.825, Hilleren tied for 11th with 8.7, Addison Kasella was 13th with 8.675 and Wilcox finished 14th with 8.65.
As a team, Benson/KMS finished runner up on the uneven bars with a total score of 32.7. Hoberg finished tied for second with 8.5. Wilcox was sixth with 8.4, Mia Post came in seventh with 8.175 and Carly Tolifson and Kasella tied for 12th with 7.625.
On the beam, Benson/KMS had the best team score of 35.8. Hoberg had the top score on the beam, winning with a 9.225. Wilcox came in third with 9.1, Hilleren finished seventh with 8.95 and McGeary was 12th with 8.525.
Benson/KMS was also second on the floor with a team score of 35.025. Wilcox and Tolifson led Benson/KMS on the floor, finishing in a tie for third with 8.925. Hoberg was 11th with 8.75, Hilleren came in 12th with 8.425 and Taylor VanHueveln finished 13th with 8.3.
