Kenneth John Fernholz, 98, of DeGraff, Minnesota, died Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Clara City Care Center in Clara City, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, Minnesota, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in DeGraff.
Kenneth John Fernholz was born February 11, 1926, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of William (Bill) John  and Florence (Collins) Fernholz. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff. He was raised on a farm south of DeGraff and attended Country School until eighth grade. In his youth there were many family gatherings with his cousins.
October 18, 1958, Kenneth married Agnes Langan at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff. They lived on the family farm and raised their children there. Kenneth worked on the farm with his dad and then on his own his entire life. He also served his country and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock.
Kenneth enjoyed playing cards, especially Buck Euchre “Dirty.” He had love and joy for all his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Kenneth are his wife Agnes Fernholz; four children: William (Bill) Fernholz, Michelle (Matt) Schlagel, Kevin (Shawn) Fernholz, and Diane (Tom) Pieper; seven grandchildren: Sarah (Adam) Lundquist, Nathan (Bobbi) Schlagel, Bryan Schlagel, Courtney Fernholz, Megan Fernholz, Luke Pieper, and Emma Pieper; two great-grandchildren Simon Lundquist and Miles Lundquist; sister Theresa Doyle; other relatives and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Florence Fernholz; infant daughter Agnes Fernholz; brothers Merlin and Eunice Fernholz and Leon and Bernice Fernholz; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dwain Doyle, Mildred Pruden, Robert Langan, Frances and Julius Marquardt and Elizabeth and LaMond Shinnick.
