Kathryn Ann Walsh, 79, died  Saturday morning, January 3, 2026, at the Swift County Benson Hospital in Benson, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, Minnesota. Visitation will continue at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Murdock.

Kathryn was born November 30, 1946, to Leo and Margaret (Lehmann) Hilke in Breckenridge, Minnesota and was baptized in Fairmont, North Dakota. She was confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Kathryn attended elementary school in Ortonville, Minnesota, and high school in Benson, graduating from Benson High School in 1964. She continued her education in Wahpeton, North Dakota, for nurses training.

January 24, 1970, Kathryn married Patrick Walsh at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Together they raised three children: David, Ann, and Sarah. Kathryn worked as a nurse at the Swift County Benson Hospital for 46 years, sharing her love of caring for others.

Kathryn was a loving wife and mother, a meticulous housekeeper, and an incredible cook and baker. She adored her grandchildren. She was courageous, and had a gentle, loving spirit. She led with quiet strength and strong faith. Kathryn faced each day positively, prayed the rosary daily, and exemplified the spirit of family.

Kathryn had many interests. She loved quilting, embroidery, and visiting with friends. She was active as a catechism teacher, a member of the church council, a 4-H Leader, and a member of Homemakers, as well as participating in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church CCW and the church quilting group.

Kathryn is survived by her husband Pat Walsh of Murdock; children and grandchildren: David (Barbara)Walsh of New Brighton, Luke, Audrey, and Maria Walsh; Ann Hippe of Benson, Kaitlyn and Darin Hippe; and Sarah (Jeremy) Biermaier of New Prague, Matthew, Anne, and Adam Biermaier; sister Mary Hilke of The Villages, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Margaret Hilke, father and mother-in-law James and Ann Walsh, brother-in-law Frank Walsh, and sister-in-law Jean Hilleren.
