Kallstrom, Cortez, and Rudningen lead KMS to 20-0 win over Braves
A 69-yard punt and two long touchdown runs were the difference in the game as KMS beat Benson in the Section 4A opener last Tuesday night in Murdock, 20-0.
It was the second time the Saints have beat the Braves this season as KMS improved to 3-6 heading into a game at Upsala-Swanville Area later in the week, while Benson ended the season 3-6 overall after losing five of its last six games.
Upsala-Swanville Area (6-2) earned the top seed, followed by BBE (5-3), Browerville-EV (4-4), KMS, Benson, Parkers Prairie, and LPGE. The Section 4A championship game is set for 12:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5 at the FargoDome.
“I’m very pleased with the win over Benson,” KMS head coach Jason Fernholz said. “And, this Saturday’s game at USA will be even tougher with a trip to the championship game at the FargoDome on the line.”
