Dineen’s 279 yards and five TD’s leads Benson to 42-14 rout of Long Prairie-GE

Thomas Dineen ran for 279 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Benson football team to a 42-14 victory over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Friday night on Brock Field.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Braves tacked on 21 points in the second quarter to take command of the game. LPGE was held without a first down and negative-12 yards of offense in the first half.
“I was a little disappointed we didn’t score on our first long drive and our second drive after all the success we were having moving the football,” coach Adam Foslien said. “I felt we could have put the game out of reach by halftime, but the boys came out firing in the second half.”
The Braves, who fell to Kimball Area in their first game, 42-0, are set to host Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at 7 p.m., Friday for the annual Homecoming football game...
