Drought potential increasing as heat continues
Drought conditions are spreading in western Minnesota as intense heat and a lack of rain take their toll on soil moisture.
Nearly all of Swift County is now experiencing the early stages of a drought with abnormally dry conditions covering most of the central and southeastern portions of the county. The southwestern corner of the county is now in a moderate drought, the step above abnormally dry.
