Francis Hargreaves

Francis Hargreaves died Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Elmore Assisted Living at the age of 77.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Fr. Brian Mandel will be the Celebrant and interment will be at St. Malachy Catholic Cemetery in Clontarf.

Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the service.

Francis Elvin Hargreaves was born July 15, 1948 in Bologna, Italy the son of Willard and Marie (Possenti) Hargreaves. He moved in the early 1950’s to live with his grandparents, Lelland and Rose Hargreaves. He served in the US Army in Vietnam. After his discharge, he was united in marriage with Rosalie Felcyn in 1975. They made their home on a farm near Clontarf. He was a care giver for 29 years before moving to the assisted living in Elmore. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and working with his hands.

He is survived by his son, Jerry Hargreaves of Mankato; a daughter, Amy Hargreaves; a step-son, Lawrence Felcyn of Evan, MN; two grandchildren: Emily and Lila; a brother, Anthony (Delphine) Hargreaves of New London; and two nephews: Timothy and Craig.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents and his parents.

Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
