Daniel James Bjerk was born in Benson, August 8, 1955, and passed away January 3, 2026, at age 70. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. He graduated from Benson High School in 1973 and went on to Minnesota State University-Mankato, graduating in 1977. He received a Masters in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1982, leading to a long career in international business in Arizona and Florida.
Dan and his beloved wife Lisa resided in Hudson, Florida, and died together in a car accident while traveling to Arizona. Dan is survived by his son Bjorn of Gilbert, Arizona, daughter Jamee Bjerk (Evan Dennis) of St. Petersburg, Florida, step-daughter Cammy Quasius, grandsons Jaxson and CJ, siblings David (Georgia) Bjerk, Vikki (Rich) Mullenbach, Cindy Bjerk, and Lee (Kristy) Bjerk, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and James Bjerk.
How two of Dan’s best friends from high school remember him, (text from Rod Rice to Rob Anfinson.} “The best thing about Dan was that he never bragged himself up and he let his actions speak for him. He had considerable success in his career but was always interested in others, being kind, listening to what they had to say, and finding out about them rather than talking about himself. Qualities I always admired.”
A joint service for Dan and Lisa will be held at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Clearwater, Florida, at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026.
