Abdo hired to study county financial operations
By Reed Anfinson
Swift County will proceed with a study by Abdo Financial Solutions of its financial department’s operations and systems at a cost of $35,000.
The board of commissioners unanimously approved the consulting contract at its July 5 meeting.
“Since we have them here, since they have identified a number of possible efficiencies, I think we carry through with the assessment,” Commissioner Gary Hendrickx, District 1-Appleton, said. “Yes, there is a cost, but inefficiencies have costs.”
At its June 20 meeting, the county board agreed to extend Abdo Financial Solution’s contract for financial assistance until Oct. 31. It is a financial services firm based in Edina that provides governmental auditing, accounting, and financial management services. It has over 400 government entities as clients.
