Benson boys fail to win first game despite holding late lead
 
The Benson boys basketball team dropped three games last week, although they had a good chance to earn their victory of the season during one of the games.  The Braves opened up last week’s action with a 64-27 loss at home to Melrose last Tuesday night, but came back two nights later to play a tough Ortonville team strong before losing late, 59-53.
The week came to an end with a 61-45 loss at Lakeview, which dropped the Braves’ overall record to 0-17 and WCC mark to 0-8.
Benson was set to play at Paynesville, Thursday before hosting BOLD, Friday, and then hosting YME (1-13 record), Monday, Feb. 5 in what could be the Braves’ best chance at picking up a win this season....
