Gymnasts lose first meet by .3 to Redwood Valley

The Benson-KMS gymnastics team scored its second-best point total of the season, but still lost a close decision to Redwood Valley last Tuesday night in Benson, 131.925-131.625.
The Fighting Braves scored 133 points during a win over Litchfield earlier this season and also matched the 131.625 one meet later.
Mariah Ahrndt led Benson-KMS against Redwood Valley with a 35.725 total to place first in the all-around and win three of the four individual events. It was one of the top scores for Ahrndt, who has a personal best of 36.4.
Benson-KMS did lose one of its top gymnasts, Allie Mitteness, during the meet at Marshall, Jan. 3. Mitteness suffered a severe injury while competing in the floor exercise and is lost for the season.
