Senior Juan Espinoza dropped 47 points in a West Central Conference game against Montevideo last week to break the single game scoring record for Benson High School.

The previous record, 46 points, was set by Aaron Lindahl, who was a 2009 graduate of Benson High School.

The Braves boys basketball team went 0-4 last week, falling to BOLD Tuesday, Jan. 31, Lac qui Parle Valley Thursday, Feb. 2, Montevideo Friday, Feb. 3 and Atwater - Cosmos - Grove City Saturday, Feb. 4.

“The second four-game week of the season and three games in a row Thursday, Friday and Saturday is very tough and a lot of our guys play 30 plus minutes,” Benson coach Mike Felt said. “Fun to play that much but it is extremely difficult and exhausting for athletes.”
