County board approves strategic plan

As the Swift County Board of Commissioners crafts its 2027 budget, it faces multiple challenges in keeping property taxes from rising significantly to cover future county operating costs.
Next year’s budget could increase by 5% to 8%, depending on whether the county uses reserves to cover some of the cost increases or relies solely on higher taxes.
