Two inches plus of rain eases drought
With 2.05 inches of rain from slow moving storms that traveled across Minnesota Sunday into early Monday morning, the area saw its most significant rainfall of the summer.
Some areas to the north of Benson in Pope County reported just over 3 inches of rain.
The rain eased drought conditions that had been worsening across the state after May, June, and July all saw far below average rainfall. Late July nearly an inch of rain that started to improve soil moisture conditions.
