Sandra Ann Grussing Ebnet
Sandra Ann Grussing Ebnet was called from this life September 21, 2023 at her home in Long Prairie, Minnesota. She was 74 years old. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, Minnesota. The rosary will be prayed at 4:45 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church Cemetery in DeGraff, Minnesota.
Sandra was born to John and Alma (Hess) Grussing on August 17, 1949 in Benson. She was one of 13 children. Sandra was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson . Her family lived in Benson and various areas of the Twin Cities.
March 2, 1973, Sandra married Ronald Frank Ebnet, Sr. To this union four children were born: Lisa, Theresa, Sheila, and Ronald, Jr. They lived in Benson where she was the Manager at the Benson Golf Club, Manager of the Benson VFW, waitress and bartender at Cloverleaf Supper Club, and bartender at McKinney’s on Southside. She loved her customers, and they loved her sense of humor and witty comebacks.
Her son Ronald lived with Sandra for many years and cared for her his entire life.
Sandra had many interests, among them were baking and cooking, planting marigolds, and playing video games with her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than her grandchildren and time with them.
Sandra is survived by her children: Lisa Svobodny of Benson, Theresa (Jason) King of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Sheila (Kyle) Reinke of Long Prairie, Minnesota, and Ronald Ebnet, Jr. of Long Prairie; 10 grandchildren: Charnelle Hayhurst (partner Jodi DeTamso), Evan Hayhurst (fiancé Kayla Soderberg), Andrew Svobodny, Jessica Naber (fiancé Kevin O’Rourke), Logan Naber, Austin King (fiancé Heath Ramsey), Dylan King (fiancé Giana Clear), Kyle (Angela) Reinke, Jr., Dana Reinke (fiancé Anthony Gardner), and Levi Reinke; two great-grandchildren: Kiarra Hayhurst and Talli Schmitz, her siblings: Betty Christians of Dawson, Minnesota, Nancy Antonelli of Pace, FL, John (Diane) Grussing, Jr., of Murdock, Minnesota, James (Mary Ann) Grussing of Clontarf, Minnesota, Cindy Edwards of Benson, and sister-in-law Jill Grussing of Benson. Sandra is also survived by her lifelong best friend Beverly Thorson.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents John and Alma Grussing, her sisters: Patty Grussing and Sally Hanson, and brothers: Donald Grussing, Thomas Grussing, Gary Grussing, Jerry Howard, and David Howard.
