Ronald Blowers, 88, of Benson, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the CentraCare Care Center in Willmar, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Erik Rundquist will officiate. Interment will be in the Parkers Prairie Cemetery at a later date.

Ronald Roy Blowers was born June 15, 1935, in Fairhaven, Minnesota, the son of Glen and Annette (Fischer) Blowers. He grew up in Fairhaven, Washington State, and Hackensack, Minnesota. He graduated from Buffalo High school in Buffalo, Minnesota. Ronald served the United Staes by enlisting in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska and served in the Military Police.     

July 27, 1957, Ronald was united in marriage to Leona Olson by the Rev. B. J. Holms in Murdock, Minnesota.  They made their home in several places including Buffalo, MN, Navarre, MN, Saga Hill-Mound, MN, Watertown, MN, Parkers Prairie, MN, Dubois WY, Murdock, MN and Benson, MN. He worked for several places including Thompson Oil Company in Navarre, Cox Brothers Ready Mix in Chanhassen, farmed near Parker’s Prairie, Motel Manager in Dubois, Wyoming, Magnuson Sheet Metal in Willmar, and for Magnuson Farms in Pennock.

Ronald was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls where he served as an usher. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, reading, making diamond willow canes, and loved raising and watching birds. He especially loved spending time with family and friends, and he relished his time visiting with friends and neighbors underneath the gathering tree at their home.  He was called from this life Tuesday morning, October 17, 2023, at the Cushman Cottage in the Centra Care Nursing Home in Willmar. He attained the age of 88 years, five months, and two days of age.

Ronald is survived by his wife Leona of Benson; daughters Robin (Mike) Curtis of Osakis and Sue (Tom) Klavetter of Spicer; a son, Scott Blowers of Miltona; grandchildren: Andrew (Vanessa) Curtis, Jaci (Adam) Christiansen, Jordan (fiancé Abby Kack) Klavetter, and Jacob Klavetter; and a great grandchild Hattie Klavetter; a brother, Terry (Lori) Blowers of Libby, Montana, brother-in-law Don (Viola) Olson of Benson; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Annette, a son Doug; brothers: Jerry (Evon) Blowers and Don (Carol) Blowers; brothers-in-law Russell (Lucy) Olson and Ardell (Margie) Olson.
