School board to seat student members

While attending the Minnesota School Boards Association annual conference recently, District 777 Board Members Brian Samuelson and Bill McGeary sat in on a session featuring student members serving on school boards.

They were impressed with what they saw. The two students who spoke about their participation in their school board meetings were well-spoken, District School Board Chair Brian Samuelson said at Monday night’s meeting.

They were very involved in their school board meetings in Nevis and North Mankato, McGeary said.
