County board looks at updating elected officials salaries
Past practice has been to give elected officials the same increase as union members received. However, while that worked for the members of the county board last year, it did not for the sheriff and county attorney.
Sheriff John Holtz and County Attorney Danielle Olson both told commissioners that the salaries were considerably out of line with what other professionals in similar positions in other counties based on their years of service and responsibilities.
