Tommy Abeyta, 70, of Benson, Minnesota, died Monday, December 22, 2025, at his home in Benson. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Visitation will continue from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the church with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Francis Catholic Church Cemetery. 

Tommy Wayne Abeyta was born November 16, 1955, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Stephen and Cynthia Abeyta. He was baptized in 1956 at the Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico, and confirmed at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Burlingame - San Mateo, California. Tommy grew up in the Burlingame – San Mateo area and attended school in Burlingame, graduating from Burlingame High School. He continued his education at Willmar Community College in Willmar, Minnesota, receiving an Associate in Arts Degree in carpentry.

May 19, 1990, Tommy married Jennifer Mary Strutz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willmar, Minnesota. Together they raised two sons Travis and Trey. Tommy worked as a carpenter for Aaron Carlson. He enjoyed history, historical re-enactments, and leather craft. He was a member of the White Oaks Society and St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, Minnesota.

Tommy was called from this life Monday, December 22, 2025, at his home in Benson. He was 70 years old. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Abeyta of Benson; sons Travis Abeyta of Benson and Trey Abeyta of Benson; half-brother Casey Korsmo of Nevada, and stepfather Roger Clark of New London. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roderick Abeyta, and several aunts and uncles.
