Old creamery could become event center, if hurdles cleared
Benson’s old creamery building has been sitting waiting to be developed.
Whether or not a new business will be able to renovate the old creamery building between the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks and Pacific Avenue will likely be decided the railroad company.
An essential part of the project involves building a patio off the building. It’s a feature BNSF may not want to see so close to its tracks. Until that decision is known, the project is on hold.
When asked by Benson Economic Development Coordinator Hillary Tweed what his plans were for the former creamery building on Pacific Avenue, Ben Vadnais replied: “To make it as beautiful as possible.”
