Swift County Sheriff’s last day is June 12

“I am here to let you know that June 12 will be my last day as sheriff of Swift County,” John Holtz told the county board of commissioners at their April 21 meeting. He will be leaving just under six months remaining in his four-year term.
“I’ve been a cop for just short of 28 years, sheriff for 16, and the time has come to be done. I am leaving Swift County in really good hands with Mike (Hoffman), the chief deputy. He has been here for 15 years. He has been my chief deputy and my right-hand man for the last five.
“I hope you guys go forward with your decisions to put him back where he needs to be,” Holtz said.
