Wanda Schwiderski, 71, of Benson, Minnesota, died Friday, February 21, 2025, at the CentraCare-Benson Hospital. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Track Bar and Grill in Benson from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Swift County Humane Society or to CentraCare Benson Hospice.
Wanda Kay Schwiderski was born November 13, 1953, in Olivia, Minnesota, the daughter or Bernard and Violet May (Abel) Kortgard. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Renville, Minnesota, and she was confirmed at the Methodist Church in Bird Island, Minnesota. She grew up in Renville, Bird Island, Clara City, and Olivia. She attended school and graduated from Bird Island High School and attended Ridgewater Technical College in Willmar where she earned an associate’s degree.
May 19, 1973, she married Mark Steven Schwiderski at the Catholic Church in Green Valley, Minnesota. They had four children. Wanda lived in Benson, Minnesota. In 1994 Wanda met Loren Wiebold and they have been together for over 30 years. She worked for Agvise, Appleton Prison, and PCS Homes as a caregiver. After her retirement, she was blessed by being able to care for her grandchildren.
Wanda enjoyed gardening, baking, and watching Westerns, Judge Judy, and QVC on the television. She shared a very close bond with her sister Diana, they were more than sisters. Wanda loved spending time with her family, and she delighted in hosting Christmas, her favorite thing was to buy the grandkids presents: she began Christmas shopping on January 1! Wanda had a quick wit and was not shy to share her opinions. She was always attentive to the details, and she was a great cook. She loved animals, especially her pets. She was called from this life Friday evening, February 21, 2025, at CentraCare Hospital in Benson.
Wanda is survived by her special friend, Loren Wiebold of Benson; her children: Jason (Sonja) Schwiderski of Benson, Sarah (Kenny) Jaeger of Benson, Jamie (Shaun) Schwiderski of Benson, and Ryan (Vyoma) Schwiderski of Eden Prairie; her beloved dog Toby; her eight grandchildren: Shianne (Brady) Amundson, Sofia Schwiderski, Micah Schwiderski, Sydney Schwiderski, Kinley Jaeger, William Jaeger, Hans Acharya-Schwiderski, and Mira Acharya-Schwiderski; her three great grandchildren, Myles Amundson, Clara Amundson, and Silas Amundson; her brother Roger (Judy) Kortgard of Clara City, her sister Diana Bauman of Morton; and nieces, nephews, and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Violet, brothers Larry Kortgard and Donald Kortgard, sister Carol Kortgard, and her beloved pets Bojo, Kaiya, and Wally.
