Two Benson players earn All-Area football recognition

Two members of the 2020 Benson football team were recently honored by the West Central Tribune of Willmar by being named to the All-Area football team for 2020.  Sophomore fullback/defensive end Thomas Dineen was named to the 11-player All-Area team, while senior wide receiver/defensive back Abe Peterson earned recognition on the 11-member honorable mention team.

Both Benson players also earned All-District and Dineen was named the MVP Defensive Lineman in the district, and Peterson was named the MVP Defensive Back.

Dineen was joined on the All-Area team by senior quarterback Ben Alsleben of Litchfield, senior runningback/linebacker Jaden Kolker of RCW, senior wide receiver Bennett Lecher of Litchfield, senior offensive tackler/linebacker Nick McKenzie of NLS, senior fullback/linebacker Tyson Meyer of Minnewaska, senior fullback/defensive tackle Tim Peppel of BOLD, senior offensive guard Taggert Reynolds of Willmar, senior quarterback/defensive back Drew Sagedahl of BOLD, junior quarterback Alex Schramm of Willmar, and senior linebacker Kaden Streed of Willmar....
