Thomas “Tom” Marvin Jerve, 76, of Benson, Minnesota died Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Appleton Area Health Services Hospital. Visitation will be held Monday, June 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, and will continue Tuesday, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Swenoda-Mandt Cemetery.

Thomas M. Jerve was born December 14, 1946, in Benson, the son of Thosten and Mabel A. Larson Jerve. He grew up on a farm south of Benson and attended school in Benson and graduated from Benson Senior High School.

November 11, 1970, Tom was united in marriage to Juanita Kay Rau at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. This union was blessed with over 52 years of marriage. Tom farmed south of Benson in Swenoda Township and worked for TCI, Case IH, Lorenz, and Grossman’s.

Tom was a member of the Appleton Sportsman Club, FFA Alumni, the Shamrock Hest Riding Club, America Quarter Horse Association, Antique Tractor Club, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the Danvers First Responders. He served as the clerk for Swenoda Township and as an usher at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting, especially Prairie Dog hunting. He loved to spend time with his family. He was called from this life  Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Appleton Area Health Services Hospital. He attained the age of 76 years, four months, and 20 days.

He is survived by his wife Juanita of Benson; his children: Anthony (Sarah) Jerve of Marshall and Michelle (Jason) Silverman of Sarasota, Florida; his grandchildren: Hallie, Owen, and Gage; his siblings: Myrt Lopez of Eden Prairie, Winnifred Theler Harstad of New Brighton, and Marlene Westin of Bloomington; and several other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Thosten and Mabel, a sister and her husband Renola and Lyle Louden, and brothers-in-law Lylen Thelen and Richard Westin.
