Benson, Minnesota – Gladys “Mickie” J. Jensen, died on Tuesday morning, February 21, 2017, at the Gabriel House in Murdock, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 27, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with arrangements.

Deloris Elverna Herfindahl, age 90, of Belgrade, Minnesota, formerly of Benson, died Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Glacial Ridge Health System Hospital.  Visitation will be from 3 – 5 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.  Visitation will continue from 10– 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Monday,   March 6, 2017, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson.  Interment will be in Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Benson, MN.  Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home.
 
Deloris Elverna Herfindahl was born August 16, 1926, to Gilman and Elsie Devitt (Dahl) Rust in Glenwood,   Minnesota.  She was baptized September 24, 1926, by Rev. A.H. Belgum and confirmed September 7, 1941, by Rev. E.O. Barsness at the Chippewa Falls Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation was held Monday, February 27, 2017, from 5-7 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson and continued for one hour prior to the service at the church  Tuesday. Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery.

Roger “Billy” William Schlueter, age 77, of Benson, MN, died Monday, February 20, 2017, at his residence in Benson.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff, MN. Interment will be in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Benson, MN.

Roger “Billy” William Schlueter was born September 15, 1939, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Otto Adolph and Mabel Marie (Weber) Schlueter.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith by Fr. King in Clontarf.  He grew up in Benson and attended grade school and Benson High School.

Donna M. Goff, age 74, died on Saturday Morning, February 18, at Meadow Lane Health Care Center in Benson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, at 10:30 am, at the Word Fellowship Church in Appleton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, with a family prayer service at 7:00 p.m., and continue from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery.

Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Donna Mae (Gunderson) Goff was born October 1st, 1942, to Edward Louis and Mable Ruth (Hanson) Gunderson, at the Air Force base in Rapid City, South Dakota. She entered into Heaven on Saturday morning, February 18th, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Anna Mae (Fennell) Hawley aged out of life at the age of 92, on February 18, 2017, at Grand Arbor assisted Living Residence in Alexandria, MN. She was born on December, 14th 1924, in Benson, MN to Napoleon and Ella Fennell.

Darold E. Mills, age 85, died on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Golden Living Center in Benson, Minnesota. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery of rural Benson. Darold Edward Mills was born on March 6, 1931, in Holloway, Minnesota the son of Samuel and Helma (Siverus) Mills. He grew up in the Holloway area and attended school there until the 9th grade. Darold enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served our country during the Korean War from 1951 to May 1952. He earned two bronze service stars, a Purple Heart, and a Bronze Star with a V.

Harlyn Elroy Saulsbury was born July 17, 1949 in Appleton, the son of Herbert and Helen (Guse) Saulsbury.  He was baptized at Grace Lutheran in Correll and confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran in Benson, Minnesota.  He grew up in Benson, Minnesota with his parents and four sisters, attended school in Benson and graduated in 1967.   He then enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam between 1967 and 1970.

Norby, age 88, of Benson, Minnesota died Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Bethesda Nursing Home.  Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2017, and will continue from 10 – 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson.  Interment will be in the Swenoda Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church and The Gideons International.

LuVerne Herbert Norby was born on April 14, 1928, to Herbert A. Norby and Julia E. (Holstad) Norby, in Swenoda Township, Swift County.  He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church of Swenoda Township, by Rev. M. O. Andrews and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, in Benson, by Rev. Harold Nasheim.  He attended Country School, District 49 in rural Swift County and the West Central School of Agriculture at Morris.
