Dorothy D. Lansverk, 84, of rural Murdock

Dorothy D. Lansverk, 84, of rural Murdock, died Sunday evening, March 8, 2015 at the Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg.  Interment was at the Spring Creek Lutheran Cemetery near Sunburg.  Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Peterson Brothers Sunburg Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Dorothy Delores Lansverk was born October 23, 1930 in Starbuck, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Josephina (Hendrickson) Olson.  She grew up on the family farm on Lake Johanna near Brooten and attended country school.  Following her schooling, she began working on the farm.  
October 17, 1953, she married Clarence I. Lansverk in Benson.  They made their home in Coon Rapids and Dorothy worked at Pilgrim Cleaners.

Harlan Long, 84, of Glenwood

Harlan Long, 84, of Glenwood, Minnesota died Monday, March 9, 2015 surrounded by his family in Glenwood.  
A memorial service was held  11 a.m. Saturday, March 14 at Glenwood Lutheran Church.  Visitation was Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Glenwood continued one hour prior to the service at the church  Saturday.  
Harlan “Huey” Wayne Long the son of Forrest “Fay” and Emma (Elness) Long was born September 2, 1930 on his grandparents farm in Christiania Township, Jackson County, Minnesota.  He grew up in Windom, Minnesota and graduated from Windom High School.  
January 11, 1952 Harlan entered the United States Marines.  He served his country and was honorably discharged  January 10, 1954.  After his discharge, Harlan returned to Windom to help care for his mother who had cancer.

Deloris Strom, 93, of Benson, formerly Barrett, MN

Deloris Strom, 93, of Barrett, MN, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, surrounded by her family, at the Meadow Lane Nursing Home in Benson.
 
Deloris Ione was born on July 1, 1921, on the family farm in Sanford Township of Elbow Lake, the daughter of Swen and Lillie (Nelson) Swenson. She was baptized and confirmed at Ness Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake and attended the Round Lake School House. After school, Deloris worked various jobs including helping to raise children for friends and neighbors, helping her mother, Lillie, and waitressing at Olson’s Café in Elbow Lake.

Vivian L. Molden, age 80, of Big Bend

Vivian L. Molden, 80, of Big Bend, Minnesota, died Saturday March 14, 2015 at her residence.
Memorial services were held  Friday at 11 a.m. at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Private committal took place in the church cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to services that day.  
Vivian Lucille Molden was born  May 9, 1934, in Rosewood Township, rural Montevideo, the daughter of Emil and Myrtle (Johnson) Christenson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo and attended District 24 country school. She graduated from Milan Public School in 1952.
For many years, Vivian worked at the Milan Standard and operated the linotype machine. She engaged in house cleaning, catering with her best friend Beatrice, assisted her husband in their farming operation and was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

Rosemary A. Dahl, 77, Glenwood

Rosemary A. Dahl, 77, was born on December 22, 1937 in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Gertrude (Mathison) Soat.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith.  She grew up and attended school in Terril, Iowa and completed two years of Community College.
 
Rosemary was united in marriage to Dale Dahl on June 15, 1957 in Estherville, Iowa. This union was blessed with over 57 years of marriage; one son, Michael, born in 1961, and twin daughters, Laura and Lisa, born in 1963.  She was a school teacher in Estherville and Terril, Iowa. They moved to Appleton in 1966, where they owned and operated Dahl’s Super Valu grocery stores in Appleton, Benson, and Ashby, Minnesota.

Lucille Irene Diederich, 59, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Benson

Lucille Irene Diederich, 59, of Redwood Falls, Minnesota died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Redwood Falls Area Hospital.  
Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson.  Visitation was held prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.   
Lucille Irene Diederich was born in Benson, Minnesota February 21, 1956, the daughter of Cletus Matthew and Doris Louise (Matter) Diederich.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church.  Lucille grew up in the Benson area and graduated from St. Francis Catholic School and Benson Senior High School in 1974, and attended the University of Minnesota in Morris for two years.  She worked at Jennie-O, and at the West Central Tribune subscription department in Willmar, and various jobs in the Benson and Willmar area.

Wesley Ferdinand Teske, age 94, of Baxter, formerly of Benson

Wesley Ferdinand Teske, age 94, of Baxter, passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2015.  Wesley was born on June 29, 1920 in Swift County, Minnesota to Gustav & Clara (Reuss) Teske. Wes married Dorothea Jagow on January 17, 1942 in Benson, Minnesota.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Diane (Richard) Hanson of Vergas; Deborah ( Allen) Krook of Maple Grove; Jeff (Susan) of Baxter; brother in law, Frank McDaniels of Brainerd; 6 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren.

Services for Wes will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Baxter.  Visitation will be on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 4-7PM with prayer service at 6:30PM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home-BRAINERD CHAPEL, and one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the church.

Burial will be at the Baxter Cemetery.

James Albani, 92, of Glenwood

James Albani, 92, of Glenwood, MN passed away on March 10, 2015. A Memorial Service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be held on Friday, March 13th at 10:00.
Jim was born on March 31, 1922 in Hibbing MN to Dominic & Annunziata Albani. Jim practiced dentistry for 39 years in Benson, MN before retiring in 1981 and moving to Glenwood. He was a graduate of Hibbing High School and the University of Minnesota Dental School.
Jim is survived by his wife of 69 years and 9 children, 8 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. His surviving children are Jim, Ann, Mary and Marty McNamara, Toni, Dominic, Bridget, Patrick, Dino and Lisa Albani and Peter and Cindy Albani. He was preceded in death by his 3 sisters and 1 brother.
He met his wife Kathleen at the University of Minnesota and they were married on September 6, 1945 at St. Francis Church in Benson. She was truly the love of his life.

Lu Ann Flaspeter, 59, Benson

On Thursday morning, March 5, 2015 at her home in Benson, MN, Lu Ann Flaspeter left her family suddenly, at the young age of 59.
 
A Celebration of Life Service will honor Lu Ann on Thursday, March 12, at 1 pm, with a time of gathering starting at 11:30 am, all at Redeemer Lutheran Church 14226 West 280th, Henderson, MN. Pastor Diane Goulson will preside. Pall bearers will be her nephews, Josh Oldenburg, John Flaspeter, Bill Flaspeter, Mike Flaspeter, Terry Kader and Dustin Brabec. Lu Ann will be laid to rest at the Church of Redeemer Cemetery, Henderson, MN.
 
On July 19, 1955, in St. Peter, MN, Lu Ann was born the second of three children to Lloyd Charles and Ethel JoAnn (Lurth) Oldenburg. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in

Evie A. Gunderson, 97, of De Graff

Evie A. Gunderson, 97, of De Graff, died on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Swift County Benson Hospital.  Mass of Christian Burial was 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 10, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in De Graff.  Evie Gunderson was born March 19, 1917, in Havelock Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota, the daughter of Septer and Loretta (Brennan) Christiansen.  She was one of six children.
She married Earl Gunderson  February 14, 1939, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff.   She was baptized, received first Communion, and confirmed at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff.  She moved from her childhood home in 1939 to DeGraff and lived there until she moved to Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson in 2011.
