Stanton T. Nelson, 82, of Swift Falls

Stanton T. Nelson, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22nd, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls and continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is in charge of the arrangements.
Stanton Thor Nelson was born in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, Minnesota, on April 30, 1933, the son of Ole M. and Alice C. (Jackson) Nelson. He was baptized on October 6, 1933 at Rolling Forks Lutheran Church by Rev Beito and confirmed on June 10, 1947 at Rolling Forks Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rhone. He grew up in Swift Falls and attended country school at District #38 and graduated from Benson High School in 1951.

Derald Leroy Hanson, 85, Benson

Derald Leroy Hanson, 85, died on Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Benson, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 11:00 am at the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will follow the service at the Lake Hazel Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday June 17 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Marvin L. Lachelt, 73, of Litchfield

Marvin L. Lachelt, 73, of Litchfield, died  Monday, June 1, 2015 at Ecumen Emmanual Home in Litchfield.  
Visitation was held Saturday, June 6 from 4-7 p.m. at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home.
Marvin LeRoy Lachelt was born  July 23, 1941, in Boyd, Minnesota to John and Elsie (Neitzel) Lachelt.  He grew up and received his education in Boyd.  
Marvin lived in Texas for many years, moving back to Minnesota in 1991.  He was united in marriage to Allene Parks in 1989 in Texas.  Marvin was an over the road truck driver for 49 years.  After moving back to Minnesota, he worked for Litchfield Trucking for 24 years.  He loved to fish, hunt, and watch racing, especially Nascar.

Isabell Foss, 84, of Hancock

Funeral services for Isabell Foss of Hancock, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Rev. Julius Miller will  officiate. Visitation is Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church  Wednesday.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
Isabell Elaine Swanberg, daughter of Peter and Margaret (Langsdorf) Swanberg was born  February 26, 1931 in Marysland Township in Benson, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Benson High School in 1949 and began working at Finger Hut in Benson.

Funeral services for Onalee Kleven, 82, of Benson, Minnesota, formerly of Madison, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, Madison, MN.  Rev. Kirk Meseck will officiate.   Special music by organist Linda Anderson and a duet is by Julie Hill and Gary Boraas.

Shelby Jean (Landmark) Giese, 74, of St. Cloud (formerly of Benson)

Shelby Jean (Landmark) Giese, 74, of St. Cloud, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 30, 2015 surrounded by her family.  
Funeral services are Wed., June 3 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo, ND at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation is held one hour prior to the service.
Shelby grew up in the Benson area and graduated from Benson High school in 1958; she was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church for many years.
Shelby lived and worked in Willmar for over 20 years before moving to Stearns County.  Shelby had many interests including sewing and crafts, cooking and baking, and flowers and gardening.

Vivian B. Hallberg (Himley), age 87, of Minneapolis

Vivian B. Hallberg (Himley), age 87, of Minneapolis, died on May 28, 2015, of congestive heart failure.  A visitation was held May 31st at Gill Brothers Southwest Chapel, Minneapolis, and the funeral service was Tuesday, June 2nd, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, with Pastor Gary Brandenburg officiating.  Burial followed at the Benson City Cemetery.

Gloria Lee Smith, 68, St. Augustine, FL

Gloria Lee Smith, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in St Augustine, Florida, surrounded by loved ones, Thursday, May 21, 2015 following a brief battle against a deadly form of brain cancer.
A memorial service and reception will be held at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota at 1 p.m.  Sat., June 13, 2015.  
In lieu of flowers, Gloria had requested that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or the ASPCA, as she loved animals.    
Gloria will be deeply missed by her husband of 49 years, Robert Smith, their two daughters, four grandchildren, her brother David (Diane) Janson,  her extended family and friends.

Donna Christenson “Chris ” Lamphere, 79, Jasper, GA

Donna Christenson “Chris ” Lamphere, 79, died of complications from C.O.P.D. at Piedmont Hospital in Jasper, Georgia on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
Chris was born  June 2, 1935 in St. Paul, Minnesota. During her high school years in Benson, she was a cheerleader and in the drama club. She was also an accomplished pianist, writer, and singer.
She lived and worked in Minneapolis, San Francisco and Chicago before marrying the love of her life, Albert “Ab” Lamphere in 1965 during a Minnesota blizzard. After living in Virginia and then Florida, they settled in Nashville, Tennessee where they raised their two daughters, Nancy and Karen.
