Swimming pool should open June 8

Benson’s Family Aquatic Center should be open this Wednesday afternoon for swimming, Director of Public Works Dan Gens told the city council Monday night.
In past years, the pool has always opened Memorial Day weekend. However, due to the extensive damage caused to the city cemetery and parks, as well as other properties in the community, city crews have been overwhelmed with work. The steps necessary to open the pool in the late spring were delayed.
