Swift County reassesses its building plans

Before the COVID-19 pandemic fundamentally changed how it was providing services to Swift County residents, the board of commissioners was considering adding onto human services building.
Back in June 2020, commissioners were told that 11 additional offices were needed just to improve the basic functioning of the department. There is a lack of safe, secure and private interview space for clients. There is a lack of good vision of the people coming into the office creating a security risk and there is a need for confidential space in the front office to talk with clients.
Over the past year, measures were taken to increase the security of the employees and confidentiality of the communications between clients and staff.
