NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the Swift County Board of Commissioners shall conduct a public hearing on November 16, 2021, at 10 AM, at the Swift County Courthouse, 301 14th Street North, Benson MN, 56215, to consider Public comment regarding the Office of the Treasurer moving to appointed.
Written comments or questions will be accepted until Wednesday, November 8, 2021. All comments and/or questions shall be addressed to Swift County Administrator, Kelsey Baker at 301 14th Street North, Benson MN.

Following receipt of public comment, the Board of Commissioners may consider the following Resolution:
WHEREAS, the Swift County Treasurer is currently an elected office of Swift County.
 WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 375A.1205 provides a process for making certain County offices appointed in Swift County; and
WHEREAS, the Swift County Board of Commissioners intends to consider making the Office of Swift County Treasurer appointed; and
WHEREAS, the County Board must notify the public of its intent to make the Office of Swift County Treasurer appointed by publishing this resolution once a week for two consecutive weeks in the official publication of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Swift County Board must provide an opportunity for public comment related to appointing the Office of Swift County Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, the parties wish to execute a contract between the County Board and the Swift County Treasurer that provides that the Swift County Treasurer will be appointed to the position and retain tenure, pay and benefits equal to or greater than the length of service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Swift County Board of Commissioners intends to consider the appointment of the Swift County Treasurer.
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the required notice be published in the Kerkhoven Banner, Swift County's official newspaper, on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 and Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that notice is hereby given that public comment will be heard on the intent to appoint the County Treasurer position at the Swift County Board meeting held on November 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the County Board Room located in the Swift County Courthouse at 301 14th Street North, Benson MN
