Second half of July sees a rise in COVID-19 cases

Concern is growing in rural Minnesota about the spread of the highly infectious COVID-19 Delta variant. After new cases had reached lows in June and the first half of July not seen since the pandemic first started taking hold in May 2020, they are on the rise again.

The numbers appear small but are significant. Countryside Public Health’s five counties saw just 13 cases of COVID-19 in June. The new cases numbers remained relatively low through the first half of July with 12. However, in the second half of the month another 20 cases were added.
