Rose Winters, 93, of Appleton, Minnesota passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the Appleton Area Health- Care Center. Visitation was 3-5 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Visitation resumed from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2023, at the church. Pastor John Ramsbacher officiated. Burial will be held in the spring at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo.

Rose Violet Winters was born January 21, 1930, at home in Clifton, Township, North Dakota, the daughter of Julius E. and Christine V. (Zimprich) Langer. She was raised in the Fingal, ND and Valley City, ND area, where she attended Country School through the eighth grade.

November 1, 1950, Rose was united in marriage to Wilbur John Winters in Valley City. This union was blessed with six children: Marlys, Pamela, Barbara, Patrick, Linda and Karen. The couple lived in Minneapolis until 1952 and then moved to Montevideo and then to Canby in 1955. They farmed until 1962, when Wilbur took a job at the milk plant. In 1967, the family moved to Holloway when Wilbur was hired at the creamery. The Winters moved to Clarkfield in 1980 and then in 2014, Rose moved to Apple Ridge Apartments in Appleton. Due to health issues, Rose entered Appleton Area Health Services-Care Center,  May 1, 2015.

Rose worked in various restaurants over the years, at Fingerhut in Benson, and was a CNA at the Clarkfield Care Center. She was a people person who would talk to anyone. It is said that Wilbur hated to go shopping with Rose, because it would take twice as long as it needed to, as she would visit with everyone! Rose enjoyed gardening, flowers, dancing, going to card club and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rose passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the Appleton Area Health- Care Center. She attained 93 years and 27 days of age.

Rose is survived by her children: Marlys (Norman) Schwarz of Appleton, Pamela (Delroy) Schulz of Benson; Barbara (Gene) Wiehr of Arlington, SD, Patrick (Judy) Winters of Benson, Linda (Jeff) Fish of South Haven, Karen (Kim) Heiden of Corcoran; her 11 grandchildren: Dawn (Peter) Meyer, Stacey (David) Raddatz; Stephanie (William) Sondag, Jason (Brenda) Schulz, Timothy (Kelly) Wiehr, Randy Wiehr, Kelly Winters, Katie Winters (fiancé, Johnny Erickson), Melissa (Matt) Hanson, Jessica (Dave) Kampa, Courtney (Andrew) Blascyk; her 23 great-grandchildren: Lee (Rebecca) Meyer, Luke Meyer, Maggie Raddatz, Braden Raddatz, Danielle Sondag, Kaitlyn Sondag, Brandon Sondag, Carter Wiehr, Jodessa Wiehr, Kelton Wiehr, Leland Wiehr, Jaden Winters, Raelynn Rivera, Kinley Erickson, Ellison Hanson, Raegan Hanson, Emerson Kampa, Oliver Kampa, Brynlee Kampa, Lukas Schulz, Stella Schulz, Lincoln Blascyk, Camden Blascyk; her brother, William (Joyce) Langer of Hawley; her sisters-in-law: Janet Winters of Montevideo, Alvera Clark of Young America; and her numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Winters in 1991; her parents Julius and Christine Langer; her parents-in-law, Harry and Minerva Winters; her step-mother-in-law, Sevilla Winters; her sisters: Gladys (Herbert) Rutherford and Christine (Clem) Kuklok; and her brothers: Julius (Mary) Langer Jr., Lawrence (Jane) Langer, Leo (Ruth) Langer; her brothers-in-law: Harold Winters, Aaron (Ginger) Winters, James Clark; and her sister-in-law, Darlene (Frank) Clark.
