Record snow, cold, and spring is here
Baseball fields on the first day of spring
By Reed Anfinson
Spring is here the calendar says. Minnesota’s landscape and the thermometer disagree and make a better case for winter’s continued reign.
For the first time since daily records started being kept for the City of Benson in 1952, more than 80 inches of snow has fallen during the winter season. Officially, as of Monday, the Benson area had recorded 80.25 inches of snow.
A chance of more snow is in the forecast for Tuesday night into Thursday, but no more than an inch is supposed to accumulate.
