Plowboys end regular-season with win
The Benson Plowboys ended the regular season with an 8-6 victory at Cottonwood, Sunday, July 18. One day earlier, the Plowboys fell at home to Ortonville during Benson’s Kid Day, 12-4.
Benson, which ended the regular season with a 2-10 overall record, was set to play Appleton in the opening round of the County Line playoffs, Saturday. However, Appleton did not have enough players so was forced to forfeit the game.
Benson advanced to face fifth-seeded Dumont and the Plowboys lost that game, 3-2. Benson next plays in the double-elimination tourney at 7:30 p.m., Saturday against the loser of third-seeded Madison and 11th-seeded Dawson in Madison. The 13-team tournament was set to end Aug. 14 in Rosen...
