Picht and Sanasack are MVP’s for Lady Storm
The MBA Lady Storm went 0-21-1 this season, the first time in 22 seasons the program finished without a win, although it did earn a 2-2 tie with Fairmont, Nov. 27, a game the Lady Storm led late in the contest.
MBA ended its season with an 11-0 loss at River Lakes in the opening round of the Section 6A Girls Hockey Tournament, Thursday at Richmond.
MBA, coached by Abby Daly and assistant Mitch Bruns, will lose seniors Kellie Wilts and Hannah Zimmel to graduation, but returns the remainder of its team, including leading scorer Taryn Picht (13 goals and three assists), and starting goalie Leah Thompson.
Sophomore Taryn Picht was selected as the team’s MVP Defensive Player of the Year, while freshman Kortney Sanasack was chosen as the MVP Offensive Player of the Year, sophomore Corrie Erdahl earned the Most Improved Award, and ninth-grader Allison Michaelson was selected the winner of the Storm Award.
