Olga Skare, 100, of Benson, Minnesota died  Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014  at Homestead Place North in Benson.  
Her funeral service was held  Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m.  at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson with Pastor Seth Novak officiating.  Interment was in Swenoda Cemetery.
There was a visitation with the family one hour prior to the service at the church  Tuesday morning.  
Olga Ruth Christenson Skare was born January 25, 1914, in Pleasant Valley Township, Williams County, Tioga, North Dakota, to Albert Julius and Minnie (Rodahl) Christenson.  She was baptized March 22, 1914, by Rev. I. G. Monson, at the Benson Valley Lutheran Church near Tioga, North Dakota.  Olga grew up and attended District # 49 in Swenoda Township, rural Benson, Minnesota.  She was confirmed in 1929, by Rev. M. Andrews, at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Benson.  
November 7, 1936, Olga was united in marriage to Oliver Ingvald Skare, by Rev. M. Andrews, at the Our Savior’s parsonage.  This union was blessed with more than 54 years of marriage.  She farmed alongside her husband, Oliver, and worked at Benson Cleaners, Finger Hut Manufacturing, Northside Elementary, and reported the Swenoda News for the Swift County Monitor.  Olga was active with Swenoda Ladies Aid, Our Redeemer’s WELCA, Whipper Snappers Homemaker’s Club, Sunday School Teacher, and a Kid Day Judge.  She enjoyed raising flowers, embroidering, baking, playing cards, traveling, ceramics, and hosting coffee parties.
Olga passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Homestead Place North in Benson, Minnesota.  She had attained 100 years, seven months, and 11 days of age.
She is survived by her brother, Edgar (Gloria) Christenson of Benson; two sisters-in-law: Myrt Christenson of Benson and Grace Christenson of Benson; brother-in-law, William Holm of Benson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver on September 7, 1991; four sisters: Agnes Milbrandt, Minda Skare, Hazelle Christenson, and Leila Ellingson; two brothers: Alvin and Robert Christenson; two brothers in infancy, Raymond and Edgar; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
