Ben Kepner, 86, of Holloway

The funeral service for Ben Kepner was held Friday, June 6, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton.  Pastor Michelle Rowell officiated at the service.  Pati Arnold was the organist and Dennis Kohlman and David Paulson sang the special vocal music.
Casketbearers were Kyle Kepner, Heather Kepner, Alex Beyer, Megan Beyer, Evy Riesgraf, Sam Kepner, and Travis Kepner.  Interment was in the Appleton City Cemetery.
Ben Hur Kepner was born  November 2, 1927, in his family home, the son of Samuel and May (Sallen) Kepner.    He graduated from Appleton High School.
Ben was united in marriage to Shirley Louise Sather of Benson  September 18, 1948.  This union was blessed with seven children, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.  He spent his whole life on the family farm.  His enjoyment was being a farmer.
Ben died  Monday, June 2, 2014 at the family farm in Moyer Township.  He had attained 86 years and seven months of age.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Holloway; six children: Larry (Diane) Kepner of Appleton, Gregg (Karen) Kepner of Montevideo, Sharlyn (Dean) Beyer of Holloway, Jeff Kepner of New Ulm, Randy Kepner of Holloway and Brenda Kepner of Holloway; daughter-in-law, Vickie Kepner, of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
Ben is preceded in death by his parents; his son Bruce; and his brother Wells.
