2014 BENSON CIVIC CENTER INSULATION
AND DEHUMIDIFICATION PROJECT
CLOSING DATE 1:15 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014
 
RECEIPT AND OPENING OF PROPOSALS:  Sealed proposals will be received by The City of Benson, 1410 Kansas Avenue, Benson, Minnesota, 56215, until Monday, March 24, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read.
PROJECT:  Construction of the 2014 Benson Civic Center Insulation and Dehumidification Project, Benson, Minnesota and associated work.  Project includes spray foam insulation of the existing steel building approximately 26,400 square feet.  The project also includes an alternate to replace the roof panel screws with new screws and new gaskets, and a separate bid for HVAC equipment and electrical design and construction.
TYPE OF BID:  One bid for insulating the building with an alternate for the roof panel repair work and another separate bid for the HVAC equipment and coordinating electrical work.
PREBID MEETING: A Prebid meeting will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. at the Benson Civic Center, 2200 Tatges Avenue, Benson, Minnesota 56215.                                                                   
BID SECURITY:  Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check or cashiers check for at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Benson.
EXAMINATION OF DOCUMENTS:  Drawings, Project Manual and other Contract Documents may be examined at the Office of the Owner, the Architect's Office and at the following builders exchanges:  Willmar, Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Cloud, Sioux Falls, Fargo, F.W. Dodge and Reed Construction Data.
PROCUREMENT OF DOCUMENTS:  Primary Bidders may secure one set of the contract drawings and project manual at the office of Engan Associates, P.A., 311 4th St SW, PO Box 956, Willmar, MN  56201, Telephone (320) 235-0860, Fax (320) 235-0861, upon a non-refundable fee of $25.00 and furnishing company name, address, telephone number, fax number and email address.  Plans can be requested as an electronic CD at no additional cost or a full size set for a $100.00 refundable deposit.  Please submit separate checks for the $25.00 plan fee and plan deposit.  This deposit will be refunded if the plans are returned to the Architect, in good condition, within 10 days after date of bid opening.
 The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities therein and further reserves the right to award the contract to the best interests of the Owner.
